Visit of the university delegation to the UK on energy and environment issues
From 20 to 29 October 2014 a delegation of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, which included the Dean of the faculty of chemistry Prof. O. M. Kalugin, Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Dr. G. V. Titenko, Dean of the Faculty of Geology, Geography, of recreation and tourism Prof. V. A. Peresadko visited the universities of Kiel and Durham in the UK. The visit took place within the British Council on energy and environment issues associated with the extraction of hydrocarbons.
During the visit a research project ReFiNE, dedicated to the problems of using hydraulic fracturing technology in the UK and Europe was presented to Ukrainian delegation. Outlined the prospects for expanding this project in Ukraine and involvement of the scientists of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University supported by Shell and Institute of unconventional sources Gas.
University of Kiel introduced integrated masters program «MSc Environmental Sustainability & Green Technology».
University delegates presented the basic concepts of the new master specialty "Ecogeochemistry of oil and gas", which was endorsed by British colleagues. In further cooperation plans – to attract British counterparts to the curriculum for the new specialty.
